Be Still & Know Virtual Book Tour w/Cassietta Jefferson My Review

Title: Be Still & Know
Author: Cassietta Jefferson
Genre: Christian Romance

Blurb

Bitterness and deception always manage to find their way to the surface. Be Still & Know is a novel about finding love after devastating heartbreak and the challenges of learning to trust again.
Kai Bennett never believed that she was worthy of love. Too many years of being mistreated left her bitter and uncertain of her own self-worth. Finding validation in men, money, and trinkets, she has little use for a man becoming a permanent fixture in her life. That was until she met Alvin. What starts as a game of cat and mouse quickly develops into something Kai is unsure she is ready to handle.
Alvin Reigns discovered long ago that in love, there were no happy endings. He had fallen in love once, and vowed to never again allow any woman that much control over his heart. Kai Bennett was an unexpected surprise who made him want to believe in the possibility of a happy ending. After many years of self-preservation, Alvin is unsure if he should trust Kai with his heart.  How will Alvin and Kai learn to trust and create their own happy ending?

My 5 Star Review

An excellent read of restoration and forgiveness in this new Novel "Be Still & Know."
The author done a remarkable work to bring these two topics in the forefront of the plot that brought our two main characters to life.
The story is over the span of three years divided in segments where we get to know about these two's struggles and making wrong decisions because of past hurts and unforgiveness.
Alvin Reigns a young man who was burned because of the unfaithfulness of his fiance finding himself in the arms of different women each night. Trying to forget but yet bringing harm to himself, knowing that this was not the path of redemption and healing.
Kai Bennett who too had meaningless affairs with several men, loosing her self because of a past she too could not erase and a mother who simply did not love her. Isolating her self in the process. Thinking that she is doing this out of protection. But yet going deeper into the pit of unforgiveness and bitterness. Allowing herself no time to reflect on the beauty surrounding her.
But when these two people meet they were drawn to each other like magnets. Finding peace and comfort in one another. Fitting easily into each other as if were always been the case.
Because of her past Alvin's support system warned him about her. He finally gave his heart to the Father allowing Him to restore him when they met. And he had to struggle with the constant questions if she is the acceptable wife he longed for in his life. Since she was not a devoted Believer. Seeking answers in his daily Bible studies and prayer life he found the answers. But it was not necessarily as he wanted it. Challenged often by her unsavory past to find the woman and accept her for who she was. Choosing to stand with her no matter the gossip and sour feelings of his older sister.
The relationship between her and her absent father was the one that stood out the most. Did the Heavenly Father not promised in the Word that he will restore the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers? This touched my heart deeply. And like the father in the Prodigal son he waited patiently for her to forgive and return to him without question. Accepting him so that he could restore her position in his household.
I must say I was really impressed with the support system Alvin had. His brothers and sisters being there every step of the way. Not minding the hour, they just showed up.
When Kai's family life was also restored we found the same dedication from her brothers adoring her as if she was always part of their lives. Loving her and making her part of them as if nothing were broken.
I book I can recommend to those who love a good Christian Romance.
