Tired if dealing with an unfaithful husband after seven years of marriage, Raine Edmunds finally gets a divorce. Wanting to start over, she leaves her successful modeling career behind and goes to a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico to stay with her best friend. The ranch is the perfect place for her to take stock of her life and all she's accomplished.

Then Raine meets Hayden, her friend's brother-in-law, and the opposite of all the other men she has ever known. As their friendship blossoms, so does her love of ranch life. She discovers that what she wants most-what her heart truly desires-is right in front of her.

Everything about Raine and Hayden's love is against the odds. Now they must prove to each other and to themselves that no matter what trials assail them, their love will be strong enough to overcome any obstacle.

About the Author

J. (Jewel) Adams stays crazy busy with her family and writing. She has written several books in different genres and is also a motivational speaker to both youth and adult audiences. She home schools her four kids that are still at home, and between that and conjuring up new ideas for her books, her brain is completely fried most of the time. She and her husband Sean are the parents of eight children, which means they are both losing hair, but hey, that's what Rogaine is for, right?

In her spare time (when she has any) she likes to curl up with a good book and a healthy stash of orange Tic Tacs. She and her family reside in Utah.

Jewel loves hearing from her fans, so if you would like to contact her to tell her how much you love her books or give her sympathy for the fried brain, or suggestions for the hair loss problem (for my husband, of course)

Interview Questions
   1.       Where did the idea come from for the book? -

I always thought it would be cool to read an interracial romance about two people from polar opposite backgrounds trying to merge the two world together, and since I never came across one, I figured I would give it a try. I was happy with the results.
   2.       What genre does your book fall under? -
That's a hard one, but I would classify it as an interracial contemporary inspirational romance because it has all those elements:-)
3.       Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? -
Definitely Josh Holloway or Chris Hemsworth as Hayden and Kerry Washing or Zoe Saldana as Raine
4.       What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? - Opposites attract and true love conquers all.

My book is published under Jewel of the West, my own self-publishing company.
6.       How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? - About 4 months.
7.       What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? -
It's hard to say because this books kind of spans genres.
8.       Who or What inspired you to write this book? -
I just love love, and wanted to show that when it's true, it sees no color.
9.       What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? -
It's a sweet romance that is still emotion-driven and passionate, and the characters are real. Plus, it's set in Roswell, New Mexico of all places:-)

   My 4 Star review

Although an interracial romance novel the focus in this book is not on the intrigues normally associated with such a relationship. The author’s focus was rather on choices we all have to make in life making sure that our future is peaceful and happy.
We meet the two lovers Raine and Hayden Mckade. Their life so far apart and different from each other that you could not phantom how the two would ever come together.
Raine, married to Jerome finally booted him for all his infidelities in the years they were married. City girl and successful model with a prosperous future in the modeling world she made the choice to step away from it all once the divorce papers were signed.
Invited to their ranch Caroline and David McKade gave her the stepping stone to start over, fresh and new.  And as time went on she lost her heart to David’s brother Hayden. Cowboy and rancher with no desire to stay in the city. His masculine body towering over her protectively. Silent in his dealings with her and the ranch hands not giving away his heart intend.
But yet they were attracted to each other and soon a sweet romance blossomed between the two. A natural coming together with no hiccups until two days before their vows of matrimony she receives an invitation to return to the glamorous limelight as a favored model in a topnotch position others only dreams about, but she refused. Not even considering it or the return to her old life. To make matters worse Jerome also called and added more stress. Not willing to let her go.
Fear gripped Hayden and the wedding was cancelled. Instead of Raine who must leave he left and she had to once again make a choice to walk in faith and believe that he will return to her or walk away from a second chance. Her love for him unrelenting in the face of the obvious.
Making the right choices are always difficult when faced with trails but at the end the two sort it out. Trails are always there to shape us attitude and opinion of life and what it offers as illustrated in this book. We learn to love both the characters for their trust and unconditional love for each other when facing the odds against them.
A fitting name for the book.
A well written and fast paced love story filled with twists and turns maturing the two characters as believable people you can relate with, their relationship and the choices they make to have the future they always wanted with a beautiful conclusion.
